After our 6 year old son broke his arm this summer, we began to look for products locally to protect first his splint and then full and short arm casts. We called local medical supply stores in the yellow pages. None had the type of products that we were being told by our Orthopedic, we needed to protect his cast. We also tried places like Target, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, etc and again found a huge gap in the product offering for covering and protecting his cast.
29 short days after he broke his arm, our family had planned a 10 day Hawaiian vacation. We knew there was no way we would be able to keep him out of the pools and the ocean, just to keep his cast dry. We finally had to turn to the internet to find not only products to cover him during bathing and showering, but then water-proof protection for swimming and water slides while in Hawaii.
In order to have enough time to test these products and gain the peace of mind that he would be protected during the trip, we had to pay half the product cost, again, to get it shipped to us in a timely fashion.
While in the islands we saw many children and adults alike, not able to participate in water activities, while on vacation, because they had no way to protect their cast or bandages. How to Measure
1) MEASURE LENGTH
ARM: Measure from the tip of the middle finger to the top end of the cast or prosthetic. If the cast goes above the elbow, follow the bend of the arm.
LEG: Measure from the back of the heel (from the floor) to the top end of the cast or prosthetic.
Choose a XeroSox that is at least 2 inches LONGER than your measurement. Don't worry if the XeroSox is too long. The excess material will flatten down when the air is pumped out.
Shipping and Handeling Since we offer low cost local delivery service, every attempt will be made to save on shipping and handling costs! If the delivery area is outside of our footprint* and shipping is needed, we offer, UPS, USPS and FedEx services. Depending upon your needs and desire, we are able to ship overnight, 2nd-day or ground. We offer insurance (optional) and tracking numbers for all shipments. Please choose your preference when placing your order by selecting the appropriate option next to the item description.
If warranty replacement issues occur, we will gladly replace the cover, free of charge, but will charge the appropriate shipping charges to get the cast cover to you.
For multiple orders we will combine shipping and handling (if applicable) for the entire order.
"Handling Charges" constitute delivery or pickup charges in lieu of shipping. Each will be calculated dependant on the situation and distance.
